16:10 letterbox help
So i have a BenQ FP202W (pretty old, around 2005) with native resolution at 1680:1050 wich is 16:10.Some games as i have seen doesnt support this aspect ratio. The problem here is the letterbox.i have letterbox in some games and even on youtube when i use fullscreen. So i want to remove the letterbox and stretch the desktop.i checked nvidia control panel if there is any setting for this (i got an nvidia gtx 650 gpu) and i found Adjust desktop size and position tab.So i went there and found that the full-screen option pretty much solves my problem. But it didnt.Tho in other resolutions like 1280×800 wich is 16:10 aspect ratio the stretch did work.So what is the problem here? is it just 1680:1050?

screens only function "correctly" in their native resolution. in other resolutions they do all sorts of crazy stuff.

why do you want to strech and malform the picture? that looks ugly .. but well, the first thing i would look for is the screens own settings, on the device.

First thx for the reply,i like better streched than black bars.I also checked my screen settings and the setting is greyed out.The settings my screen got : Auto Adjust(greyed out) , Luminance , Geometry(greyed out) , Color(greyed out because mode is on movie 2 rather than standard) , OSD , Language , Recall , and last Miscellaneous wich inside there are these options :Mode , Mode Demo , Input Select , Sharpness , and display information.I connect with DVI.Sorry if its to complicated
