Phone Number

How long am I going to have to look at that "You do not have a phone number associated with this account". I tried entering my home phone number but it's asking for SMS code. I don't have a cell phone so am I going to have to look at that banner from now to eternity?

There's an error when trying to add my cell phone number to Steam: #phone_error_invalid_number Any idea how to fix?

I was actually just about to post the exact same thing. I'm following the format of the example given (+12042345678), but it gives me the same message as you.

I was also getting same thing. then it changed to an error has occured and im getting the messages about 10 minutes later. I don't have a place to put them in at either.

Just tested it to be sure - can confirm it. They are probably overloaded right now as everyone who updated their steam client gets a message telling them they should add their number if they havent yet.

Same here, I was prompted to give my phone and was given the "#phone_error_invalid_number". Maybe their servers are just overloaded at the moment. It looks like a new warning they just rolled out.

Can't Add Phone Number to Steam Account

Steam won't let me add a phone number to my account. I keep getting an error saying my number is invalid. I tried every format and it doesn't work. What can I do?

It may be a bug, others members have this problem too, and I think that security method is on beta. I do not know very well.

I think it's more likely the SMS provider they are using is at capacity. Looks like they rolled out the warning "Add your mobile number to recover your account" to everyone today. They probably should have staggered that message a bit so not everyone went to add their number at the same time.
