Steam says im playing Team Fortress 2 even though im not.
So since yesterdaywhen I close TF2,I cant launch the game again because Steam says that the game is still running. I looked up in the internet, said that I had to end hl2.exe,and I tried that with Task Manager,Process Manager and Command prompt but none of them worked. I also restarted steam and PC ofcourse, and verified game's chache. Later when I asked at reddit, someone told me that I had to delete all files in steam folder except for steamapps, userdata and steam.exe.

I did that and IT worked but later, after I played TF2 for a while,it says that im still playing TF2 again. Also I still cant close hl2.exe for no reason.

I know that Steam support is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ so im asking here. Is there a way to permanently fix this?

Um,no?
I do a scan every now and then and there's no sign on being hacked.

if you clicked a link ingame and that opened another program, like your browser, then close the browser.

you started the game, otherwise you wouldn't be listed as ingame in any case.

and you are still ingame because a child process is still active and as i explained as an example, if you do something ingame that openes another program, you have to close this program too and that is mostly the webbrowser.

Im not sure if its the correct one but I ended the process which I think was the browser.
I still cant close hl2.exe though. The odd thing is that when I try to kill hl2.exe from Process Manager,it says access denied for some reason, even if im on administraror.

That is how good hackers operate... by not being detected. :tank:
First of all,if they have access to my account,I'd get a email that my account is being connected from somewhere else.
Second, why the ♥♥♥♥ would the hackers play TF2 in my account rather than using my money on steam and stealing every single item that I have?

1) Unless they hacked your email too, which with a trojan / keylogger is easy to accomplish. 2) Maybe tey are bored script kiddies who just wanna mess with you and/or not having the balls to actually steal. Maybe they will steal at the last moment. Maybe they already emptied your bank account so why bother with steam. Maybe some other reason. Why not ask them? :steammocking:
Honestly I dont know why,I'm just asking a way to fix a bug caused by Steam and you're blaming it on hackers.
If I did got hacked,I'd ♥♥♥♥ myself and probably wont request help on steam forums.
Can you stop sending your "helpful tips",it really isnt helping much.
