Games crashing after 5 minutes of playing
Hello, recently I noticed my games are crashing. I don't know why is that because my pc is really new. I built it like one or two months ago and it just randomly started to happen. My specs are: ryzen 5 7500f, rtx 4060, 32gb of g.skill ram and 500w bequiet psu. My pc is definetely not overheating, I checked it today. My cpu and gpu were around 60 degrees when played minecraft on shaders and mods. The games that crash are: Minecraft, Roblox, Mirror's Edge Catalyst and WWI Tannenberg.

The probable cause is not enough power draw from your PSU.

Try the PSU calculator to see what is recommended.

I grabbed these values from the manuals offered on the respective websites where possible.
CPU: 65Watt, GPU: 300Watt (max values)
Motherboard: no clue, so taking an example (TUF GAMING B650-E):
55Watt (a guess) for the board itself (high ends typically consume up to 65 watt)
7x 6Watt for the fans / pump
3 x 2Watt for the RAM (DIMMS) (neglectable I guess)
same for SSD

Conclusion, he has more than enough Watts with that PSU, though if you want to max overclock + put all the RGB Lights everywhere and add more drives (HDDs consume 8Watts), then yes, 550 would be advised.

Its not the PSU.
Worse, motherboards typically feed too much power to the CPU by default. 65Watts should be its limit with this CPU, not more. I recommend checking it in the bios.

500Watt PSU is fine.

Game crashes... not system crashes?
Its kind of interesting it only happens during gaming, which seems to indicate it may be GPU related.

try installing the latest driver Nvidia offers.

That’s weird because it happened before i changed gpus and i’ve been playing like that for 1-2 months. The calculator says that 550 watts is minimum. I also checked other calculators like be quiet and they said that 500 watts is recommended.

I already did that using DDU. I forgot to mention that it happened before I replaced my old gpu.

What intel chip generation do you have on your pc? It will have a "i" in front of it with a bunch of numbers. It is important to tell us which generation you have as 13 and 14 gen chips are faulty and can brick your pc. You better find out ASAP as it can really mess up your pc. If you find out, please post here and we can help you with what to do next.

This is not Intel at all, its AMD.

Crash logs. Can you look through the Windows Logs and find the error?
Can you also see into the C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\ folder
and see if you can find a crash dump or crash log file for the game there? (usually they go in there somewhere, or in My Documents, if it isn't the game's installation folder itself)

Honestly, what you should do depends on the cause of the crash. The error messages might help figure this out. You shouldn't really be trying random stuff, but some of the options don't hurt to try I suppose.

In case you can't figure out where the crash logs are:
Can you try and see if updating the BIOS firmware does anything? It might be long shot, but still.

Can you also run software like MSI Afterburner to measure the power consumption of the GPU when you play a game? (It can display this in a graph)

The GPU can at most eat 300 Watt. One mentioned cause for the crash could be a shortage in power; which is still possible through a broken or wrongly connected cable.
You can see within the graph if the GPU can reach 100% Power usage.

Just making sure. Yea, that is fine. Isn;t that a graphic chip and not a processor? I was asking about their processor. I was not aware that ryzen was a processor, but i tend not to use AMD stuff. I know there good as i used a couple components ago that were from AMD on my pc in 2005.

AMD Ryzens are the desktop CPUs basically
AMD Radeon's are the GPUs. Modern Radeons have RT in their name (Ray Tracing)
which is basically what Nvidia calls RTX (also raytracing).

So we know from the fact the OP states RTX that they're using an Nvidia graphics card.
The Ryzen 5 is an AM5 CPU. Its a very recent / modern one. It's competing with Intel Gen 13 / Gen 14 basically.

AMD Server processors are called Threadrippers.

---
AMD's CPUs are quality (and price) wise currently still the best. Intel is only keeping up due to the forced overclocking (at the cost of degradation), seemingly. Its kinda odd, because technically AMD's CPUs tend to be slower? At least, base clock.
Intel should focus on what it is doing well and use that as a base for improvement instead. Speed at low power. The exaggerated core count doesn't matter too much.
And the whole e-core nonsense needs to go, is what I think. (That kinda broke a lot of stuff, especially performance.)

Thanks for the info. Since this is going off topic, i will say i hope the op can fix their issue. Good luck!

What type of storage do you have? SSD I'd hope?

I think you haven’t read my post thoroughly. I don’t have an intel cpu.

I have both SSD and HDD. Windows and apps are installed on the SSD and games are installed on HDD. Do you think my HDD broke?

HDD's can wear out after 5 years. If it is broken, and you can replace it, i suggest getting a SSD if you can to replace it. I have one on my pc and it makes it so fast. BTW, the life expectancy of SSD's is like 500 years.

How long have you had this pc for?

It could be shot. Is it making loud noises when running? That usually is a dead giveaway the HDD is dying. Did the noises when running get extremly loud recently when running games?

If you want to test it, find a new triple a game if you can and run it. If the hdd is very loud, could be dying. You could just run a demo of a new triple a game as you won't need to buy a new game.

For example, here is pretty new game. It has a demo. Think of it like testing your hdd with a new game:
