T-mobile content blocking
Does anyone know how to stop T-mobile from blocking Steam on my hotspot? If I use a VPN it works but not directly.

okay, I did some checking, this has been a thing since 2017, I'm not sure if any one has come up with a solution, but you can get quicker help by other users on the tmobile subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/ ask there is all I can think of.

I am STILL within my allocated bandwidth for the month. I get 40gig on my hotspot. The month is almost over and I have used 19. And they are not throttling, they are BLOCKING. No connection made. I am not trying to cheat a system. I am trying to make a system that I am paying for work for me. I have no issues paying for another system that will work

And none of that alters that you are on Steam forums complaining about a T-Mobile issue that no one can solve but T-Mobile and more importantly yourself who cannot apparently cannot contact T-Mobile about the issue.

I unfortunately have a mobile life. I have woken up in Buffalo NY, Hagerstown MD, Chicago IL, St Paul MN, Davenport IA, Indianapolis IN in the past week.
Is there other providers, maybe some with better service? Is there WLAN you can use?

What a way to be a ♥♥♥♥. I was hoping for information from other gamers who might have had the same experience.

But obviously not T-Mobile who would answer your question.
It is quite simple on why Steam is blocked, it is a major service that generates a ton of traffic. It is highly likely that the infrastructure could not handle many people like you. Consult your contract and you will find a paragraph there that does allow them that.

I don't know why you are so hostile.

look maybe you get it the wrong way here, ask your ISP, we other cant help you with that, or do you accepts such company or maybe no other choise for you in that area.

deal with you own ISP company or find a better. its that simple. or live with what they are doing to you.

just so you get it i think people are way to nice with you. most people in the world will not be gentle as there are here.

let me refresh that do you paid for that , try ask that isp maybe they should pay you for lack of service, let see if you get that, and what i try to push you. ( such company will not live long in my country )
throttle network and not have the bandwide, is doomed company in most contrys. they are sub contractor that live on other ISP lines.

ps.
you might not like what i tell you, but atleast i dont smooth talk about it.

Suggesting you contact T-Mobile is hostile?

Odd that you have still not given a valid reason why you cannot contact T-Mobile and get an answer to your question whilst attempting to shift the conversation.

Yeah, I have. In fact, I am with T-Mobile and I frequently can't use anything Steam via cellular internet.
How's that helpin' you though?

To anyone that may be interested. I have taken more care to monitor my actions, and the block on Steam seems to be from city to city. Part of why I wondered if Steam was doing it. Anyway you cut it, using the exact same equipment (laptop and cell hotspot), I can get access in some places but not others.
I've used Steam through a T-Mobile hotspot before, and it worked fine (and led me to realize that Steam downloaded an update to itself without warning and thus ate up a chunk of my data allocation without telling me). But this was years ago so it might not still be applicable?
I don't know. I travel ALOT for work. Last night in Memphis I was blocked and had to use a VPN, tonight in Knoxville, I am free and clear. I am NOW over on my data for my hotspot, and Steam is still working, albeit slowly.
