Why do you need to send files to that mail?

Why are you sending stuff to a blantant scam email? Since when does a billion-dollar company like Valve use Gmail...

Steam has one internal outbound email system @steampowered and that's it. It doesn't even have an email address for the community to use.

I can't believe people fall for such things. It's like the 1990's with all the gimmeallyourbankdetails@imanigerianprincehonest.com scams.

I would change your password. That is a scam email as Steam does NOT have a gmail account

Valve will never need files to make a refund. EVER.

That is how you ask for a refund on games. You also need less than 2 hours and less than 2 weeks in order to get a refund.

If you've given out password and account name you should change your password.

When it comes to ssfn file uploads and such:
https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

[Deauthorize all other devices]
Washell Jan 8, 2016 @ 7:33am
The purpose of them asking for those files is to bypass the mobile authorization, so no, you're not safe. Change the password and de-authorize all devices.

The e-mail says "steamrefund"

So I don't know what other context could be used to lure people into this.

Greed to get something "back" what you never had.

While that's probably true, what Zefar said is still very much true as well.

Valve will never ask for any file uploads when it comes to refunding products.

What did the files contain?
Credit card details? if so contact your bank.
Steam details? get mobile guard, and deauthorize other machines and change password.
