Youtube videos freezing steam?

Okey not sure if this happens to me only but everytime i click on a youtubr video it freezes the steam screen. I can still click on stuff but unless its a library its always showing that buffering video and it never ends i have to restart steam everytime...

You are the the only one. I had that issues (I actually had it gain like 1 minute ago). Not only it's freeze my steam for me (except hte library), it's also keep it frozen even if I close the window and reopen it (like I can't see the store at all). I need to completly exit steam and then relaunch steam again and be sure to don't start a youtube video again or I will freeze again :/

Happens to me too. Only way I have gotten them to work is to completely delete Flash player from my computer.

You are only supposed to submit one ticket per issue. If you do more than one, it can just slow down the whole process for everyone, including you.

Try booting your PC into safe mode WITH NETWORKING and go to the store after logging in on your account and see if the youtube vids work there, after you are sure you have updated your flash player of course.

Can confirm, trying to watch a Youtube video freezes Steam completely but the library.

I've just installed W7 64bits again last week and for the moment youtube videos work.

One workaround is restarting Steam : you regain control over Store and Community, but as soon as you try to watch a video Steam freezes again.

Second workaround is deleting Steam internet cache, which allows you to watch a first video without problems, then the freeze is back.

happens to me too, only in the steam client. if i use my internet browser and check steam's page, any and all videos work. just not through the steam client.

as for restarting steam, i've noticed if i just open task manager and end each instance of 'steamwebhelper.exe' fixes it aswell. just dont try to watch any videos again or it'll freeze again.

oh and another thing, the steam support thread about getting flash for 'other browsers' even has a link to it.... yeah, that damn page doesnt exsist, the 'other browsers' selection does *NOT* exsist.

Steam freezes even on new systems - happened yesterday for me. Like Ultima, flash and youtube work under Firefox, only the Steam clien freezes.

Steam web browser is what making this slowness to happen all over again.It have been fixed at the end of november last year and went back to ♥♥♥♥ again at the very first week of february and still goes on,not a single solution about this unknown issue when Steam integrated Google browser.Off Steam,my Mozilla Firefox handle fine,but this is only the problem with Steam.

I get a lot of this too. Often is isn't even enough to exit and restart Steam, so then I have to kill the process before restarting Steam or the stuck process will linger and prevent normal function.

Try this : Steam => Settings => Interface tick "Enable harware video decoding ...", it seems to work for me.

mine was unchecked, i changed the setting and restarted steam like it asked. tested a couple of videos in the steam forums (in steam client) like before and they loaded instantly, can skip to parts of the video playback just fine. TY for the help!
