Steam Disconnecting Computers Internet when download, verifying or starting up a game.
The "Solutions" Ive tried :
1.Ran speed tests. (speed is completely fine)
2.Ran steam as admin (didnt work)
3.Checked steam ports (up to date)
4.Disabled firewall & protection (didnt work)
5.Reinstalled Steam (didnt work)
6.Turned off IPv6 & switched to IPv4
7.Forced steam & games to run at high performance through registry
8.Tried updating driver & windows (Up to date)
9.Tried updating steam client (Up to date)
10.Flushed DNS
11. Clear Download Cache for Steam

After trying all those "solutions" Im still having the same problem. I have games installed on D: & E: drives. steam will just disconnect me whenever I try verify & whevever I try load rust, steam will go offline and disconnect my internet from my pc. Only steam does this and every other application is fine on my pc and doesnt mess with my WIFI

Kick your Computer from the list of known devices and add your computer again

Just tried this and it didnt work at all, thanks for the suggestion though
I have a similar situation.I'm playing a game(usually with someone)& suddenly the screen goes dark and a message pops up saying I've disconnected from the internet and to reconnect.I contacted Steam and its always something on my computer ,nothing to do with them. They LOVE to pass the buck.So far,no one has been able to help me either.

Its litterally so annoying, its mainly on sea of thieves. When i load it up itll just completely cut off my internet. epic games and other launchers dont have any problem like this except for steam. even when trying to verify any sort of game itll just knock me off and my internet is perfectly fine

Probably fully reset your account, maybe there is some problem with the steam guard...

"Killer" nic/wifi? that is usually advertised somewhere on your laptop/mainboard box, if not check windows device manager.

if so, you will find answers on google. in that case it is not Steam, the nic had and still has severe issues with certain network activities.

My driver is a realtek rtl8192ee wireless LAN 802.11n pci-e nic Which online has a problem with only connection to every network.

mine doesnt have this problem due to the fact its a stable connection and works only until i click "verify integrity of files" or run a certain game like rust or SOT Then it will disconnect till either the verification is done or the loading screen to the game is done.

Have you installed the latest NIC driver? I had a BSOD randomly when I used a WiFi connection under heavy load

I don't know if we're having exactly the same problem, but when I'm downloading a game through Steam, I get dcs from my wireless network at random points in time. I don't have this problem when downloading through GOG Galaxy or Ubisoft Connect.

My Wifi card is a TP-Link Archer T2U and I had installed the latest driver

I've been having this problem and tried all those things as well. The one that temporarily fixed it was disabling IPv6, but then it came back.
I noticed that my download region changed to a closer one, so I went and changed it to another server in my region and it seems to have fixed it.
I don't know why this specific closer one kills my internet, but on the further one I can download at full speed no issue. I've even been able to switch IPv6 back on.

So try steam settings > downloads > download region > change it to another one/big city.
