Steam support own brand, other brand controller is not a steam issue take it up with PS support or whatever brand controller you have.

its PS own problem to have teamwork with steam ( same goes with other company )


we dont work for steam, this is users forum, we have seen other game pad get issue with games ( also game devs own problem in what they will support )

Steam Input API supports it, yes. how well that translates to games is a different story and on your chosen or selfmade configuration for each game.

about 5k of the 100k games on Steam claim to have native support for it.
