I both suggest and recommend you to both expand and extend your question and add more details so Steam users here like me will be able to both answer your question, help and assist you.
Also don't forget to add screenshots and pictures that show your issue that you are complaining and reporting about.
All what I can say is that I believe that there is a way to fix this but I don't know what is this way if it exists at all.
Really? I didn't realise my question not easy to understand because I did say that I tried changing the screenshot folder directory but no screenshots would save to it.
Maybe this is a bug that should be reported to the developers immediately and wait for them to fix this I guess or just run as administrator because you are not authorized or you don't have needed and required permissions to do what you want to do?
Yeah that worked. But why can't it be also for normal screenshots?
Yeah the developers should be informed about this issue. Because with other game clients like Origin, Ubisoft etc. You can completely change the screenshot directory, where game screenshots are saved at. But with Steam it still saves screenshots in its default directory as well.
The path setting is really just for the uncompressed copies. The UI for this setting could be a bit clearer.
If you really wanna mess with this then your only option is to use symlinks/junctions. Which you should not use if you do not have a bit more advanced PC knowledge in general.
Steam could easily update the screenshot uploader. Since that's something that they haven't updated, since they've updated Steam's interface from the classic Steam appearance.
How they could do that is when you want to post a screenshot with the uploader. There would be a screenshot camera icon on the side of the library panel, where your list of games are listed. You open it and it would load the newer screenshot uploader tool. You would need to when selecting a screenshot to upload. To set what game the screenshot is for, like how they've done it for attaching YouTube videos that you've posted.
Also the newer screenshot uploader tool could also support multiple screenshots to upload at the same time. To help you save time as well.
When changing the screenshot directory. In order for the newer screenshot uploader to detect the new directory with newer screenshots. Steam client would after changing folder directory would get you to reload Steam client to apply the changes.
