Games won't run from alternate drive?
I'm running steam from my SSD (C:), and all of my game files are on a mechanical drive (E:).
As of recently, several of my games try to reinstall even though they're installed in my E:\SteamLibrary folder and my default folder is the E: folder.

I've tried deleting the appcache folder on C: but Steam still wants to re-acquire the game files when I run verify integrity.

Stumped......I really don't want to start over.

Yeah, tried that already, didn't work.

Ended up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam files and common folder and starting over. I reinstalled steam(ing pile) on my mechanical drive and reinstalled everything in the same directory. Appears to have saved most of my save games but had to reconfigure my custom keymapping for pretty much everything.

What a pain in the ♥♥♥♥.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't work that way. You can, however, put steam on E: and temporarily store you game files on C:. Unless you can find a way to set up a RAID, but that is not ideal for an SSD and HDD

what do you mean? "it doesn't work that way."

I've been running Steam from an SSD on two computers for the last year without issue. Libraries on D: and E:... this seems like a local issue, somehow.
