What I'm trying to say is, you should ask this on the DOTA 2 forums.

There's no "adding gems" on the Steam itself.

In order to socket ethereal games..you need an unusual couriers, and simply click the unusual couriers in the armory and click the gems that you wan REPLACE.

Unlike normal gems..ethereal gems cant be place on normal couriers.

Because greevil is not unusual courier to begin with..

Unusual couriers is the one who have Ethereal Gems and Colours gem equipped on its origin (from chest or events) . Normal couriers or Greevils is just normal types couriers that have extra particle thus make it not an Unusual couriers.
