Screen shots whenever I alt+tab or click back onto a game.
Every time I alt+tab back into the game, Steam takes a screen shot. Please help.

then change the screenshot key to something else.
Check steam settings / In-game to see what button is set to take screenshots and change if applicable.

Both of these were useless replies. For me, the issue causing this was that I had a controller plugged in (Mayflash in particular). Just unplug it and it should fix the problem.

Yes exactly, this need a fix.

I have been having the same issue for a long time now.
I play on PC with a Razer wolverine 2, the controller is definately causing something here, we need to find out what it is.
Opening the game is taking the screen, when you click or alt+tab back on it.
I tried changing F12 to somthing else, but it doesn't work either.

Any ideas ?

no controller still have the issue

If you're still having issues with this and you still wish to use a controller, follow these instructions.

Press the key combo for your steam overlay, (Shift+Tab) for me, and then go over to controller settings at the bottom of the overlay, once there you should be able to see "View Layout" Click on that, and the layout of your controller should pop up, if not simply just click "View Layout" again, Once you're there you should see under the input for "Select", the input for "Screen Shot", click on that and a list of buttons, and what they do should appear, and at the bottom of that list under "Menu Buttons", should be where the "Screen Shot" input is, once you've spotted where the screen shot button is, simply click on the gear to the right of it and click "Remove command".

Now your curse should be lifted, you may now Alt Tab without any Screen Shot taking issues!

Found your response through google and thanks it works.
Though absurd this is even a bug that can happen AND Steam has no feature to set a controller profile as default, as I need to do this on every game I am playing.
