Deleting games from Steam library and achievement tracker websites
Hello there.

I decided to clean my library from games I'll never play. I noticed that when I permanently remove a game from my library I see my total games number decreasing on my steam profile.

However when I check achievement tracker websites (completionist.me, https://truesteamachievements.com/, steamhunters.com to cite those I use more) the game number remains unchange.

For instance I have now like 1020 games and these sites detect 1251 games. No matter if I refresh or rescan the corresponding profile.

How is it possible?

Do you have any suggestions for this issue?

Even if the game is deleted from the account, it is only hidden, which is why it can always be recovered.

Nothing gets deleted from your profile. Check it yourself, the achievements of a game you've deleted still are on your profile. It's very simple: your profile is a record of what you've played & unlocked, "permanently" removing a game doesn't remove history.

There's a reason you cannot delete games from accounts, you can only hide them.

Because Valve used to do this on reuquest, but the problem is law.

Many people would contact them like yourself, and ask for games to be removed. Guess what often happened? They'd change their mind at some point and want them back.

And Valve obviously legally, had to reinstate the games. Which meant out of their own pocket they'd have to pay for a key to put back on their account and take time with this.

Which is ridiculous.

So they optedf to make it so you can hide games and that's it. You see?

Thanks guys. I know you can hide games. Also you can claim for delete games. You ae saying that basically these operations produce the same results.

However deleting a game affects the simple statistics of the overall number of games I own on my profile and for me is enough here,

I just wondering how is it possible that this doesnt happen for the achievement trackers?

I mean why I can see effects on statistics (only that I dont ask for deleting history) in steam and not in websites that use steam API?

Which game are you talking about?

Because achievements are relfective of actions that happened at a point in time.

You ACHIEVED them then.

So whether you choose to sell a game in the physical realm you still have your achievements right?

Same applies here.

Third-party sites aren't obliged to update your data timely, if at all. See if you can trigger them updating and if that still doesn't work, ask them. Nobody here runs those sites.

ok I understand. In fact I am just referring to the number of games. Achievements can be there. And I didnt delete games where I unlocked achievements
