Server Token ban?
Hey,
I recently created a new game server token, which I made for my public server, where I wanted to play with my friends and have people on there aswell. So, I started the server, and after about 5 minutes after finding out that my friends can't connect even when port-forwarded, I closed the server. I did NOTHING else than that with the token. Well, after about 2 weeks, I got Server Token banned. For no ♥♥♥♥ing reason. What ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t is that? I paid 12€ or so for getting banned, not only permanently from hosting game servers, but for 2 weeks on competitive AND EVEN ON COMMUNITY SERVERS. That means I can't play CS:GO at all, maybe with bots, but how ♥♥♥♥ing boring is that. Can somebody tell me how can that happen? Also, did something like this happen to any of you?

Not really sure what you are talking about here, but you don't have any VAC or game bans on your profile that you are posting with, so you can play and play on VAC servers indeed.

Even with a VAC ban, you can still play the game, just not on VAC servers for example.

Well, I know that you can play with VAC, but I have got Server Token banned, which means I can't even play CS:GO for 2 weeks on any servers, and I really need to get it sorted up before Thursday.

That didn't help, didn't have any weapon skins or knives what the hell that is. Thanks though.

The only plugins I have there is MetaMod, SourceMod and RPG mod. If it's the RPG mod then it's the dumbest reason to get people banned...

Why not just use the core game and not mess with the files in the first place ? That is what is a totaly mystery to me with these bans. People always messing with the files and then complaining about bans will always be a mystery to me, personally.

Is this somehow related to Steam or just CSGO ? Seems like a CSGO forum topic to me but I could be wrong here.

Well, because people want more fun. Also, what if someone is cheating on the server? Or is annoying, or whatever bad is he doing? We need something to ban or kick or mute him. Also, yes. It is related to Steam, because it's a permanent ban from hosting ALL game servers.

It is probably MetaMod. It allows for other mods to be put inside it one of those (whether you have it or not) seems to allow the use of skins you don't have which is what Steam bans for.

it could be sourcemod, even THEY don't know exactly which parts of it can cause bans.

They have a new option in the cfg called 'FollowCSGOServerGuidelines' which turns off the items they KNOW get people banned. But it's not exclusive. As they find more, they'll add more features that are turned off by that flag!

Well, why would they ban me for having MetaMod in? Which I in fact need for SourceMod to work. I didn't use any custom skins or what so ever.

Also, Steam Support just contacted me, seems like they don't know what I am talking about. They told me there's competitive bans, which everyone generally knows about, for kicking too much players, and things like what you get comp. banned for, but nothing about the Server Token ban.

I just quickly looked over that thread I linked to you before and I found this...

Seems like good information to me, among other posts in that thread. There may be other threads on the matter but that is just the first one that I found.

Maybe link that thread and this thread in an edit to your support ticket then...not sure on that one.

Well, I just read that, and got the info that they emailed the server operators about illegal plugins. As always, Valve ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. I've got no email. Also, they said this:

To be clear, the services that should not be offered on a community server include (but are not limited to):
– Allowing players to claim temporary ownership of CS:GO items that are not in their inventory (Weapon skins, knives, etc.).
– Providing a falsified competitive skill group and/or profile rank status or scoreboard coin (e.g., Operation Challenge Coins).
– Interfering with systems that allow players to correctly access their own CS:GO inventories, items, or profile.

I didn't offer ANY of that. I only offered the THC-RPG plugin, which only increases speed, damage and things like that. It's a fun mod, it doesn't change the models, inventories, profiles, coins, ranks or whatever.
