Dota 2 Crashes when I try to join a game or watch a game

TL;DR: Something is wrong with my Dota 2 account, Dota 2 Suspended me because it crashes, and Support is unresponsive. Thoughts?

I managed to play one game yesterday without issue, with 3 friends. My group queued up for another game, so I took the time to open up by Level 8 chest/gift. It had some items in it, the only one I understood right away was the Armory Expander, so I used it. A game was found and when I hit "Accept" when a game was found, Dota 2 crashed and sent me back to my desktop. No error message was displayed. I thought this, odd, but I just opened Dota 2 back up, tried to reconnect, and yet again, it crashed without an error message. This lead to my team getting penalized for 10 minutes and not being able to queue up for another game.

Figuring something was wrong with the game, I took the shotgun approach to troubleshooting and uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. 45 mins later, the same issue occurs when I try to watch the game my friends are now playing without me. I went ahead and verified the game files (which were newly downloaded, so no surprise everything checked out).

I queued up for another game to see if it would work, queued up just fine, hit "Accept" and it kicked me again. I found a thread online with some ideas for getting it to work, so I thought I would try a couple of those. Only now, I'm suspended for 24 hours for abandoning.

This morning, I tried to load things up on my Surface Pro 2, and it has the same symptoms. On a whim I decided to make a new account. Dota 2 works like a champ. This is leading me to believe there is something wrong with my account, potentitally having something to do with the Level 8 chest and/or Armory Expander that I used between games.

I submitted a case last night, updated it with all my findings and thoughts, and I have yet to hear from Steam Support. Judging from what I'm seeing here, Steam Support is a sad, sad joke.

Any thoughts on how to get help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same pb since 2 day without solution.... :( I have accèsviolation.dmpm in my dota local file for each crash .... :(

Read through forums recommend first, look for similar issue :) Several people have commented and provided a resolution to at least stop the issue. Loadscreen of Magnus is causing issue, disable till patched. Do so before you get a 24 hour lockout as happened to me :)

I already got the 24 lockout.

It was totally the load screen. I had it on shuffle, and it crashed every time. I set it to a CM, and it works like a champ. Still locked out until late tonight, which I'm not at all happy about. =[

Sorry bro but i search since 2 day on french forum, english forum, dotadev forum, but no solution... 2 friends who work on computer are come to my home and no solution to ... I have delete steam and dota, instal again, chek my pilot, check my ram, check my OS, but no solution ... (sorry for my very bad english)

Set your Loading Screen to NOT shuffle and NOT the Magnus loading screen from the Champions Chest that came out this week. I set mine to the CM from the Champions Chest and everything works just fine.

Nope, it was just the Magnus loading screen. Turning shuffle off and setting it to a different loading screen worked just fine.
