Trying to change versions of Borderlands 3
I purchased the incorrect version of Borderlands 3 and cannot buy the super deluxe edition because I own the deluxe edition. Steam support has been abysmal. Is there a number I can call or an email I can send to just talk to a person to explain the situation? I'm not after a refund (played 6 hours before I realized I got the wrong version).

All I want to do is "refund" the deluxe to buy the super deluxe, or just pay the extra to upgrade to it. It is impossible to buy the super deluxe while I own the deluxe.

The whole situation has been really spoiling my enjoyment of the game; I basically spent 10 extra bucks for 3 skins and locked myself out of the version I had meant to buy, with the season pass and (yes this is stupid, sue me lol) the butt stallion skin. I could use a hand.

ask a question about the purchase.
explain it.
say you want the refund to your wallet.
I sent in two manual tickets explaining the situation and both got kicked back with a boilerplate response. I am so disappointed with steam right now, I didn't realize the customer support had gotten so bad.
Not checking which version you purchased and how many hours you've played is a customer error.

So customer support is bad because you did not pay attention? That's rich.
Yes, customer support literally exists to fix problems. Every single customer support issue boils down to either the customer or the company making a mistake. I made a mistake, and their response has been "too bad, sucks to be you."

I'm not asking for the moon, just to get upgraded to the super deluxe edition, which I am happy to pay the difference for.
You can try removing the license then buy the super deluxe edition:

To fix problems *within reason*.

Just because you say that you will repurchase things, doesn't mean that it will happen. I'm fairly sure you're serious, so you probably would. But keep in mind that it's a generic excuse used by people to try and get their refund outside the refund window.

Any refund outside the automatic period is on case by case. Sometimes they say yes, sometimes they say no.
I emailed someone at Valve directly. I think an actual person would be able to help. I'm not actually after a refund, it's just the only automated method I could find to upgrade (and admittedly a really roundabout annoying way, I'd be happy if they had a better idea!). I got the wrong version and am just trying to upgrade to the right one.

They are being processed by actual persons. Manual tickets all get processed by human beings.

You made a mistake. While it would be nice if Valve would let you fix it, they are not obliged to do so.
Well, I guess I'm just disappointed then. Anywhere else you shop if you mistakenly get the wrong size or whatever they take care of you. I feel kinda silly for being loyal to a company that doesn't really care about their customers at all; I specifically waited for the steam launch of BL3. Oh well. Thanks for responding, even the people who just snidely told me I'm an idiot, lol.
