Can I purchase a game Bundle, even if I own the main game and a handful of the DLC?
I already purchased Surviving Mars: Complete Colony Bundle about 18 months ago. Then Below & Beyond and a few other DLCs came out. I'd like to pickup the ones I'm missing, but I've found a great deal on the Complete Colony Bundle key which basically includes everything, and I can get it cheaper than buying the ones that I'm missing individually. To me, it sounds like a good deal even if I "lose" the items that I already had and only gain the few that I was missing.

Does anyone know how key activations work for bundles like that? Will I not be able to activate the bundle at all, since I own some of the items in the bundle, or will I be able to activate it and gain access to the few that I was missing?

Thanks to anyone that knows.

basically, your new key will replace your old one, so you will only get the new content you don't have, you wont get anything for the content you already had.

As long as the key contains content that you don't have, you won't have any issue redeeming it over your old key.

You should get all the things you are missing by activating that key. That is, if you buy it from an official site and not a shady reseller.

retail keys for dynamic Steam bundles(f.e. complete your collection) do not exist.

retail keys can only be generated for >packages< or singular products .. a game, a dlc, etc.

whatever your key reseller offers is either a key for one of these >packages< or multiple keys sold in bulk

a Steam retail key will activate if the activating account does not own at least one of the containing products of the package.
