How do you contact a real human on steam support?
I have an issue that requires a real person to respond to it. The automated support denies me every time.

What issue? A refund?

Which isn't the correct way to request refunds.

Steam community mods of the past have said that you need to contact them manually if you're trying to get a refund outside of the normal windows and have a valid reason for doing so, the automated system will always deny you otherwise. Besides, they didn't specifically say it was for a refund.

If this is about a refund then for a manual ticket -
In the Steam Client, go to: Help > Steam Support > Purchases > (name of game) > I have a question about this purchase.

If it is some other kind of support, then there it depends on what the issue is and may need a bit more explaining. Keep in mind that support is mainly for billing and account issues.

Also keep in mind that Support uses pre-written replies for nearly all issues. These are replies that have been vetted by multiple different teams to ensure they correctly communicate the necessary information in a non-offensive way. It also incidentally helps them save a little time because they don't have to write a new reply for the same issue every time.

Some people look at these stock responses and just assume because it is a stock response then that somehow means that no human saw the ticket. The only part of Support that is fully automated is the first tier of the refund system, which will only check to see if you qualify under their refund terms and approve or deny the refund based on that. All other contact with Support is speaking with a human.

you contact steam support thru the ticket system, not thru the forums

I need a human to help with an issue but this platform is not user friendly, even after they have taken your money!

If you're going to hijack someone else's thread, at least have the decency of describing your issue.

Only if Sony allows refunds for playing too long and owning it for too long.

Does anyone know why steam keeps launching me into games with a black screen and then when I stop it freezes on stopping? How do I fix this? I've been trying to fix it for two days now and I've found no answers

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
