Can I use Discord on the Steam Browser?
Hello. I have an upcoming event that I will need to have Discord being used for. I have the actual program downloaded, but i've noticed a relatively low, but significant frame drop on games I am playing with it open. I am wondering if it is compatible with the Steam Web Browser to run Discord off of in the Steam Overlay. I am asking this because there's a bit of extensions and plugins that seem to work with Discord that i've noticed from using the Web Version on Google Chrome.

you can reduce this quite a bit by muting servers/channels you dont need and discord also has an overlay, disable that too.

test it. but by logic it should perform even worse. the overlay is not normally "displayed" like a standard windows program, so it will never be on par with a webbrowser or the standalone application, which is basicly a browser too.

those will not work on Steam anyway. Steam uses chromium embedded framework for all its browser shenanigans and hardlimits any customization. so no plugins, except ppapi, which are installed systemwide but some are blocked anyway and no extensions at all.

what you do on google chrome, stays on google chrome.
