X input and Steam
I'm trying to play and game so I installed x input. I installed it in windows system32 and in the steam program files. It still isn't working. What am I doing wrong here?

You don't normally install XInput, modern versions of Windows support it natively. If it did need to be installed, it would install through Windows update.

Is the controller you are using a DirectInput or XInput controller? Does the game you are running offer controller support, and if so, is it partial or full?

No controller. I was planning to use my keyboard. The game has Partial Controller Support, though.

Okay. XInput is primarily used for game controllers, or steering wheels, or other game peripherals like that. You may need a driver for your keyboard, but Windows should detect and download that for you. You mention "it still isn't working", do you mean the keyboard doesn't type or is not acknowledged in-game?

One more thing should is that another game I bought that has Partial Controller Support runs fine.

What exactly is the problem you are experiencing?

did not read all of your posts either.

microsoft does not provide an installer for xinput since it is included in windows, directx and the directx redistributables that comes with the game.

so what ever you did, was downloading questionable files from non-official sources.

so you are getting an error message on the start of a game or something?
which game?

I'm getting this error for the game "Banzai Pecan" The person who made the game directed me to dll-files dot com.

Hmm, wouldn't usually recommend downloading random .DLL files, but there you go. It does appear the game strongly encourages the use of a controller, the game should support the use of the keyboard. As long as the game itself plays properly, I would ignore the error message.

Well, the error prevents the game from starting. :(

Oh dear. Honestly? I might just refund the game. Beyond that, all I can suggest is contacting the developer and explaining you cannot even launch the game, much less play it. I realize the developer is the one who told you to download the DLL file, but... that's really not very good advice. I would make sure to point out you are not using a controller.
