How to transfer steam game progress new computer

so I'm getting a new computer and want to transfer all my games over I've tried with two games transferring the files via external hard drive but every time I try the games they dont have any progress on them except for achievements and it's like im starting from new, please help its making me mad

*I'm assuming you're on windows pc,

Depends on the game, some games have their save files under the steam library folder

steamapps\common\"your game"\saves

But in a lot of cases you'll find it in the APPDATA folder, and to go there you just have to,

Open a window (File Explorer) type in the address bar "%appdata%" without quotes then hit enter, and from there look for your game and copy that folder to your new system in the same location

Don't do that, just get a fresh install of the game in your new PC.

frsh install of those two games(ATS2 and one finger death punch) didnt work, would it work for others
