How long does it take for a steam refund to appear in your bank?

I've requested a refund and got confirmation that it's been processed. I've lost the ability to play the game, but the money isn't in my bank yet?

I requested it to go back to my card - does anyone know how long this process takes? Steam was quick enough to take my money!

I find it rather amusing that they take your game within seconds, but don't give you your money back?

That's because they don't. What they get when you buy is a confirmation from the payment service that you have sent the money. It could still take days before it gets to them. This is also why, if you refund within 24 hours they often just cancel the initial payment rather than give you a refund.

Had a quick call with my bank who can see the transaction - they've classed it as cancelled so it appears back in my bank :)
