No sound!
Hello!

So after this recent update i did on Windows 10 some games will cause computer to shut down ALL sound

For example in DIRT Rally, I start the game and it works fine. the second I go fullscreen all sound is gone (including spotify or youtube or whatever thats playing in the backround)
and when Alt-Tab the sound is back.

Reinstalled my soundcard drivers with no luck.
Same thing on both 5.1 surround and 7.1 headset

Some games work fine while others dont.

Games affected (only steam games)

Total war: Attila
Total war: Rome II
Ryse: Son of Rome
DiRT Rally

// Skyrim, CSS, DOD:s, Silent hunter 4, Empire: Total war, Battlefield 4 and spintires All of these work fine.

Okey, so this might have been the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up fix ive ever had.

Everything works fine now, even restarted the computer and it works.

Turns out what fixed it was that I went to screen settings in windows and removed the duplicate screens 1-2 to show only on my 27" instead of both 27" and 55". removed the cable for the 55"

and now it works...... wtf!

hdmi? hooks in windows as an audio device and transmits the sound to the device afaik and since games have to pick an audio device .. ever turned the tv on while you had no sound?

Hey, I never fixed it. Sound is back and works fine when I use my headset. but whenever I use the 5.1 surround all speakers work but for some reason it wont play all sounds. ( for example IN total war attila all voices are gone but all other sounds seems to work fine. Same thing in Dirt rally everything works fine except for the co drivers voice wich is gone.)

Everything works fine in the 7.1 headset.
tried switching the cables from the Asus Xonar Phoebus sound card to my Maximus Ranger VIII motherboard and its the same issue.
When I test the speakers in the speaker options only the front speakers makes a noise but when i play spotify or youtube all the speakers and bass works as they should.

Ive removed the HDMI cable from the TV to GPU so now i only have DVI>HDMI from GPU to my screen and its the same.
