How to appeal a denied refund.
I bought Kerbel Space Program for full price early yesterday morning, a few hours later it became the deal of the day at half price. I tried to get a refund for the difference, but they denied it because I had more than two hours of gameplay. Hardly seems fair, anybody know how to appeal that?

You can't. Anyway, you have 1,247 hrs on record in Space Engineers, so you hardly qualify for a refund and i sincerely doubt you bought it yesterday.

lol, I had Space engineers on my mind, I meant Kerbel Space Program.

still, way over the 2 hour mark...

Well, even in that case, you have 25 hours on the clock, meaning you are already 12 times over the maximum.
Sorry, but those are the rules that everyone has to abide by.

yeah i have played it non stop, but i only had about 8 hours when i first requested a refund for the difference. if you paid $40 for something, fall asleep playing it and then discover when you wake up that it's now half-price and you can't get your money back because it's been running all night, you wouldn't feel a little cheated.

Then maybe you should have saved some money and power by turning off the game and the computer.

If you feel that there has been an error in the handling of your refund inquiry, please submit another request at help.steampowered.com. The request will be reviewed by another Valve employee.

i made two requests both included comments describing the situation. both requests were denied. i know the game time is far beyond the allowed 2 hours, but that's because i am still playing it. I don't want a refund on the whole game, just the difference in price.

That's not possible, it's an all or nothing deal.

the groceries on a farmers market are cheaper in the evening before they close. that doesn't mean you can come back with the receipt and request the difference back from the stuff you bought in the morning

I seem to remember valve themselves saying that it could be used for the purpose of a refund if the game goes on sale shortly afterwards..

What has changed... was this not the reason flash deals during the sales went away?

If they were to outirght refuse refunds to those games that go on sale shortly after why did they get rid of the flash deals in the first place.

I love how Valve keeps changing their minds about things. This is certainly NOT the service I signed up for.

What gives.

Refunding a purchase that was made just before a sale is acceptable.

http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/
Abuse
Refunds are designed to remove the risk from purchasing titles on Steam—not as a way to get free games. If it appears to us that you are abusing refunds, we may stop offering them to you. We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price.

But 25 hours might make any support tech warry.

yes that is still possible but not if you played the damn game for over a full day in time, that never was possible.

Nothing has changed? You seem to be remembering wrong if you thought that meant you could get a refund outside of the requirements with ease.
