If you got advertisements on Steam that means your Computer is infected with Adware which may comes from few freeware Software e.g Video Converter.
Valve is not responsible for the security of your Computer System.
If you need a tool for malware, go and get one of those already made.
Valve did not create your problem, you did, secure your computer and learn how to surf the net in a proper way, the fact that you install an adblocker instead of removing the adware, tells me a lot.
I have never picked up any malware in my +12years with steam, so you must be doing something you probably should not do.
You do realise the majority of people dont have this issue, right?
If you dont install random stupid crap from the internet left and right and have a decent AV/firewall/anti spywares your good to go
Dont generalise
PS: if I were you i would reinstall the whole system from scratch
Someone telling you to go somewhere else isn't a backdoor into a system. I could open a shop and write "Apple Store" over it and sell you a cheap knock off phone. You haven't broken into Apple, just been fooled into going somewhere else and doing something you shouldn't.
AdBlock plus isn't a fix, it's just hiding the problem for the moment. Like having people walking around your house, but putting up a wall so you can't see them whenever you go up and down stairs. They are still feeding information to and from your computer, which you will probably want to get rid of and stop them doing!
Are you trying to be a wise guy? It really sounds like it. I do not use warez or anything of the sort.
Also in mentioning it to Valve is worthwhile as that is called being a pro active consumer. Also again if you read all of what I said Valve had a situation where their site was copied this past week and traffic was being directed to it. I do think they would be concerned about that and other things like having a consumer who can't look through their entire store to buy something.
Finally did I say it was Steam that made me pick up malware? No. Learn to read.
Do you think I have not run these programs? It has not helped. Also I did a complete format of my hard drives and only installed the minimum and when I used IE to go to MSN News right at the bottom AdsKeeper was still doing it's thing.
You do realize I did low level formats on both drives and with a minimal install of Windows and drivers I had issues still? Oh and I know AdBlock Plus isn't a fix and that is why I was concerned and was hoping Valve could figure out what it is that is stopping me from turning pages in the store and on message boards with Steam software. You do realize they have a team that put together their software? I know they don't have the greatest customer service. Hell it is far from it but this post was intended mostly for their eyes and not for people who are just going to make the usual smart arse comments and can't even read properly and realize I have done much of what was said if not all of it that they say to do.
Again
1) Steam has no malware/adware on it
2) If you see that in Steam, it means an external program is injecting it into your system, or your DNS on your router has been hijacked
Which has nothign to do with the fact that you have malware on your system
Note things like Adblock plus are not 'protecting' you from Adskeeper. They hare HIDING it. That's like saying closing your eyes is 'curing' the gaping hole in your arm.
If you are actually doing low level formats (of which I'm highly skeptical) it means
1) the adware is installed on a secondary drive
2) you're installing something during the install of the OS (maybe dont pirate windows)
3) your DNS has been hijacked/redirected. Manually set it to OpenDNS or GoogleDNS
If you did a format and it didn't fix the issue, then it could be your router or modem is infected. Try doing a factory reset no both and see if that solves the issue.

This isn't something that Valve can fix.
Zetikla you tell me not to generalize and yet you did it yourself. Also facts are when I searched about this issue it showed people have problems with this as recently as days ago. Oh and someone on Steam message boards mentioned to me what sounded like a similar problem to mine and I asked whether or not the person had AdsKeeper on their system.
Also smart mouth I don't install random stupid crap from the internet. I don't download warez. I know enough not to install ridiculous crap. I make sure to uncheck boxes when legit companies try to get you to install something more than you want.
Finally I did format my pc and install fresh Windows 7 and it didn't matter. I don't know what the heck has gone on.
Nice that I can see you actually read my posts and gave me something else to look at.
Malware doesn't appear on your computer by magic. YOU have to install it.
Note others pointed out the obvious that Steam does not have malware, to which your constant replies are to somehow purport to be of a superior knowledge of the subject despite the fact that you then simultaneously assert something that is patently false.
