how to use pre-downloaded game files

[Blaze Mustang]

So i bought this game, DayZ, and had it downloaded on my laptop. Afterwards I wanted to try it out on my pc. And besides downloading 8.8gb again i thought why not just copy and paste. I did that but its not working. Steam starts downloading the game everytime i press play.

I placed the files in this directory;
J:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DayZ

I searched other discussions but unfortunately they arent helping. Thnkx in advance. ^^

copy the games acf file in the directory above too and restart steam. game will then appear as already installed.

Above as in, in the downloading folder or what? Sorry i didnt get you quite exactly.

if it real pre-downloaded files, it encrypted
if it from other PC, you need place it in %steam folder%\steamapps\common\%game folder%
+ %steam folder%\steamapps\appmanifest_%gameID%.acf than check game cache and run game

Do i have to create a new folder and then put the game in there as well?
steamfolder\steamapps\appmanifest_gameID.acf
Im writing this cuz theres no folder with the name appmanifes.
