[Solved] Dota 2 update download stuck on "Starting"

Steam started updating my games.
When it started to update Dota 2 everything went normal, but when it finished, the download got stuck on "Starting". I tried to pause and resume but it didn't help.
If I try to open the game, it starts and I can play normally.
Also in the Library it says "Ready to play", next to Dota 2.

I solved my problem, I just had to opt into steam beta.
Steam > Settings > Account > Beta participation (Change it to "Steam Beta Update")
Then let it update Steam and then Dota 2 and it should be fixed :)

I'm in the same situation and can't find any permanent solution. For the moment I cancel the update because yesterday I experienced a major lag in-game realated to that "infinite patch" trying to start and load.

I found the problem for me, I had to download all the other updates before my dota 2, after these were downloaded the update downloaded fine. I also needed to take dota 2 off 'high priority' for downloads. Sorry if this doesn't fix you're problem but it worked for me :) :squirtyay:

Yesterday i re-installed whole game and it helped me. But it's too long to download 6.6GB!

Today i had the same problem so i goggled a bit and found this solution that worked like a charm!

(Windows + R) and type: steam://flushconfig

You should start a new discussion (press the button at the op of the page), so people will help you.
And I think your problem is not related to the one I had...

Try changing your Download Region,
Go to Steam/Settings/Download and from there you'll find Download Region, change it to another country that is close to yours.

there maybe many Internet Connections which may block steam.
So try using mobile data by tethering it to ur PC, It worked n still works for me
u can use ur normal Internet for playing game though.
u jus need to use mobile data by tethering for download of update.
Hope it works n have fun :)

For me, change of the Download Region helped. Also tried everything else mentioned in this topic. I guess there are different issues which have the same symptoms - just try whatever works.
