Next time check the forum for the game.

Also it's amazing how 4K people right now are playing a game you claim "does not work and Steam knows it"
.
Excpet the game isn't shut down, only it's master server is. This means you have to find another way to get a multiplayer game going. Single player works fine as well.
If you eat half the burger, then leave the restaurant for a week, then go back, don't expect that burger to still be there, let alone still be warm. The restaurant has other meals to make and people to serve.
In this case, the developer decided it was not worth maintaining the ARMA 2 master server list. Instead they are focusing on ARM 3 or other projects. They are not required to keep the server running for ever and it is even stated in their agreement that they may shut it down.
Try to say that restaurant scammed you and see how many people laugh. Even those not a fan of the restaurant will still point out how it doesn't work like that.
As for the files, that seems like an issue on your end, not from Steam/Valve or the developer. Try refreshing your Steam install or deleting the game's files from your system and redownloading compleatly.
also those relvalidating files are more than likley files like config files or keybinds
also you should always look into a game see if its your playstyle and if its muiltiplayer to see if its active
oh and also before steam if you wanted to buy a pc game you needed to go to a store and unless the box isnt open you wouldnt be able to return it
steam gives you 2 hours to try out the game before youre no longer able to return it
steam is more consumer friendly then you think
It took you how long to find this out? Took me less than 15 seconds.
If you cannot get the game to launch from your Steam library, then that is something we can help with here. Since you won't get a refund for it, or almost surely will not, then that is the right course of action now, getting the game "to work".
Of course, this is if your computer meets the system requirements for it, that is. So please post your system specs as starters, as well as your operating system, if you want help on the single player game launching from Steam. Thanks.
1: There are many games that are still for sale in stores that have no servers.
2: Validating files are a diffrent issue and most likely a local one.
Neither was the burger analogy to begin with. I never assumed anything, I went by the analogy it's self as it pertained to expecting a server to always be available.
Tickets are not closed with out a reply if it is something support can assit with. The way you worded it may have been read as a developer issue and not a support issue. Support can only assist with account and billing issues, not support of 3rd party games.
Valve is not responsible for a developer choosing to turn off their servers.
Paragraphs help, by the way.
Do you want help to get the single player game working, as you said you have problems launching it from Steam ?
All points you have not shown or proven.
You are angry that you can't easily play multiplayer, fine.
You are angry that you can not figure out how to fix the game, fine.
Claiming scam, when there has been none? Your feeling and opinion do not make it fact. Sorry, but this is how PC gaming has always been. Servers come and servers go, no matter what game it is.
If you would like help getting the game running, The Giving One has already offered to help. Other then that, there is the game's own forum.
Good luck.
You can appeal your refund and have it manually reviewed by Steam Support.
