Steam opens game and then closes after 5 sec - Samsung book 2
IM trying to play Motorsport manager and other low spec games on my galaxy book 2 360
I don't believe its my hardware holding me back
it runs a Intel 1255u, Intel iris Xe, 16gb ram which should be more than enough to run the game
i don't know if there is software holding steam back or if its something else

if so, the problem might be that the game was not updated in 5 years and your CPU is "too new".

If a game crashes then Steam usually has nothing to do with it. Steam only launches the game. The game does not run through Steam.

How exactly does the game close? With an error message? Without one? Simply Crash to Desktop aka CTD without any message? Is the game freezing or acting up otherwise?

no so the app does open cause i see it in task manager but its a black screen and then closes same for any other game on steam. it doesn't give an error code

I'm having the same problem....I had the problem earlier and then all of a sudden it worked again....until I tried it hours later, and now it crashes at launch again. I believe it has to do with Steam. They were many reports on Down Detector, that people were having with logging on Steam, etc. Hopefully that's what this is, but nonetheless very annoying!! I've been playing for months without ever having an issue until the last two days.

Have you ever been able to play the game on this machine or has it crashed from the start?

I would suspect the Iris XE built in graphics are the issue, being technically capable of running games, doesn't mean the games will be compatible especially if the developers haven't tested the game on it.

so i just bought this laptop but whats weird is i can play games that aren't from the steam library. i can play league and even though its not a heavy game the other games graphic wise i believe use even less. i haven't tried playing any heavy games since im running Xe graphics but should i try to see if this computer can handle some higher level games.

Well whether a game is demanding or not may not be an issue. And it's not the only reason why a game may crash. There's lots of other variables and sometimes it amounts to updating drivers, or seeing if other people with the same hardware have the same issue. And the crash may not be GPU related at all. But that's the point of troubleshooting, to identify the root cause.

And one game may crash for another of reasons, and another game (that's a complete different engine, game, everything) may run fine. One game running fine may not guarantee another game regardless of how you twist the details.

so it did work when i turned off the WiFi and went offline
