Disk Write Error

I can install games just fine, so I'm not sure what the problem is. But every time steam tries to download an update for a game, I'm just getting this disk write error.

I can uninstall and reinstall the game and it works fine though. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Make sure windows 11 is done with windows update
Run sfc /scannow in cmd to fix it if it cannot complete its task or errored.
Once that is done, in all likely hood disk write errors will be fixed. (assuming its a fairy new system at least)
Check SMART of your ssd/hdd to make sure its still healthy

If you using external HDD, steam does not like using those. This can also cause this error. If you keep getting it, best to install on a internal HDD.

External Hard Drives
External hard drives are not recommended for use with Steam or Steam's games. Aside from many potential performance issues, external hard drives may connect or disconnect from the computer at inopportune times as part of their normal operations. If you encounter this issue with an external drive, install Steam and your games to an internal drive instead.
