So much, this!
There is no such thing as Valve/Steam talking to someone on Discord. Support is only offered through support tickets. If you are not communicating through a support ticket, then you will not be talking to support staff.
Okay thank you for the reply. Like i said I literally hardly ever use steam and I've had it for like 7 years now. I new things were sus when they asked me to log out and tried to get me to confirm a recovery confirmation that they sent me.
There should be a thread locked in all forums saying that Steam will never contact you though Discord in capital letters.
It was just very strange as they sent me an image of a ticket. As I dont use steam I have no way to verify if it was a legit ticket & in said ticket it said to DM discorduser#0000
this is the screenshot the original user sent me before I contacted "seapunkcaptain".

Discord Staff members can be recognized by their lefty stance, twitter entries and blog posts. They're quite the activist.
Aside that they also sell a lot of stakes and information to China. (but their EULA says they don't sell your information? Well.... they say that and they say "but we do allow third parties access to our servers and all the information on it for copying reasons if they pay for this"
and it is discord's main source of income. In fact, discord premium (nitro+) is just a coverup to keep you thinking that is how they get money, because most people don't look up the true business details of discord. So with people unknowingly sharing everything; ... yeah- I mean discord is also controlling, etc. They're practically worse than facebook at the moment.)
So, now you know the company's administrations personality and you can figure out the staff.
Staff is reachable by email and inquiries on their website only.
Valve staff is only reachable via Steam Support.
They don't email you, but they might send a copy of what happens on Steam Support to your email.
P. S. Steam moderators have featured badges on their profiles to show that they are still moderating or they retired. In my case I persisted on the idea that I did not have discord and the man that "reported me" gave me the "moderator"'s profile on Steam.
