So, a steam account of the name above has said something about an Item Validation. Is this safe or no?

No there is no item verification/validation.
Its a scam. Report the account.
100% scam. There is never a need to trade anything for verification.
Why would there be? All items are stored on Valve servers. If they wanted to verify anything, they could simply look into their databases. No need to contact you at all.
Remove the link as naming&shaming is not allowed.
Understood, thought it would help that someone would know the account to back results up. sorry about that.
Also, can you get hacked by sharing our giving away your trade url?

Come on, you should know better than to name and shame.

This user is impersonating Valve staff in the public domain. Naming and shaming is making baseless accusations against users and enticing/encouraging fake reports against suspected accounts. This user is being blatant and when its brought to the attention of Steam staff this way; it is dealt with far quicker.
i wonder how he scams someone, he is limited, cannot trade can't even friend people, so i wonder why OP sent him the friend request.

the other person on that accounts friendlist however is a steamrep flagged scammer, has playtime on "Steam Dev Days: Steam Inventory Service" and i disbelieve that was another possible victim.

I suspect it's a alternate account.

Why the OP sent an invite or received the invite beats me as well.

I don't usually report people because someone says so, but that profile... Just hope they take care of all his accounts, not only that useless one that has nothing on it.

Thanks! We use these reports to help us identify and review impersonators. We do not issue bans based solely on reports.

Now, they request feedback on top of the claim. But Support does look into the report regardless.
The person who wanted me to trade them also said they contacted Steam support, and that's how they showed me this account.

Ha, lol, yeah sure. Sends me a trade offer for all my valuable items to "put in the database" for later during the trade.

I get it now, so that's a show off account to scare people away. Brilliant, that guy deserves a medal !
