Steam keeps asking me to verify my Email!
Ok this needs to stop, why is this constant nagging necessary??
I click on the banner, verify for the nth time and a couple of weeks later it asks me again and again and AGAIN!

I'm starting to loose my mind. I know this is just another lazy attempt from Steam to reduce costumer support load by nagging your users to verify constantly because God forbid Steam actually spends any money or man power on their AWFUL costumer support.

Here's an idea, why don't you invest some of the 30% of cash revenue you get from each game without lifting a finger into costumer support??? Instead of nagging us to death? Suddenly I'm not so opposed to other companies having their own launchers and using those instead.

Sorry, needed to rant because the stupid green banner that won't go away is so annoying and I'm not verifying anymore.

have u confirmed in your email or u should check it on ur emails

if not then confirmed it on your inbox, it won't go away if u don't confirmed it.

In most cases, Steam asks for mail confirmation twice a year. However, with some email providers the requests will happen more frequently, especially in cases, where it is known, that inactive mail accounts will be handed out again. The same might happen with custom domains.
If things are really bad for you, you might consider to change the adress.

Why can't steam trust me like I'm not a two year old and just let me verify once? They only do this because they're lazy and don't want people writting support tickets about their Emails. When you go to help I don't think there's even a link for this anymore. It's really messed up when they make so much money and their support is so bad.

The awful state of the Steam customer support (outside a few issues, they know to handle well, like account recovering), the lack of direct contact adresses and the overreliance on the community to fix itself is a known problem, most of us choose not to think about too hard. And it is a problem, that won't be changed by venting your agressions in here, I think.
Noone at Valve even reads these forums (and knowing the internet, they may have good reasons not to do so, even if the Steam forum is very civilised for its size).

The only way to change things would not be through forum entries, but by taking a step back from Steam and not to purchase any more products until it becomes a more satisfying experience to you, maybe convincing people around you to do the same.
I've considered it a few times, but so far the level of annoyance is still not high enough for me to go there.

I don't know, if your rant makes you feel relieved, but otherwise it only poisons the mood in here without accomplishing anything.

About your mail issue, I told you, what I know.

if the email is verified there, then the green bar is simply bugged.

try
steam settings -> webbrowser -> delete cache and cookies
restart Steam.

I have been spammed with that banner for like 6 months and I kept ignoring it. For some reason it has stopped, probably after a client update.

E-mail verification is done for 'security purposes'.

Some reputable providers require verification at least twice a year.

It's a simple process that does NOT require as much hassle as you'd think.

E-mail accounts sometimes get compromised, and sometimes, database breaches can occur.

In other cases, some E-mail providers have a tendency to recycle inactive accounts.

Valve is doing you an unwanted and somewhat important favor by asking you 'is this still your E-mail and do you have access to it'?

If you've verified it and you still get a pop-up daily, the green bar is basically 'stuck'.

This is a known bug, and as Wuddih suggested, clear your web cache.

If that doesn't work, you may have to reinstall Steam.

I have the same thing, but even more often I think. I sometimes log in to steam from work where we are forced to have vpn so that's probably the reason. But what I don't get is that I still get it from home where I should have the same IP every time. It's like if I allow some spooky as vpn ip then it disallows my old real ip and I have to reallow it again.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
