Subscribing a Left 4 Dead 2 workshop content does absolutely nothing?

basically title, i dont know what's causing this, but clicking the "subscribe" button on l4d2 workshop does absolutely nothing, the content does not download at all.

This only happens on L4D2, works okay on other games ( Ravenfield works fine )

I don't quite know how to fix it, except to say I've had issues with L4D2 workshop before.

I can subscribe to a workshop mod but it doens't show up in game. I've never really looked into why, but I suspect it's more down to mods either not being updated to work with the current build or them not playing nice with another mod.

Except the mod im 200% sure the mod are compatible with Last Stand uppdate because i've used it before, and i do not have any subscribed workshop item for L4D2 atm, so conflicting mods isnt the problem here.

Ah but the thing to remember is the game updates and mods update too.

So you can't say because you used it before it must therefore work now. That's not the case. Every time a game update drops, it WILL break some mods and they can be updated slowly or even not at all.

So, that MIGHT be an issue or it could be as The Giving One points out.

well in that case it must be the game issue, because NONE of the workshop content ( only for l4d2 ) works like i mentioned; it didnt download or do anything. Hopefully they fix this issue

It could be as I said, or it could be a more general issue as The Giving One says. Have you checked that link?

Last time i played it, i had to open the game and go to the menu for the mods to start downloading. They didn't download directly via steam without starting the game.
