I'm not sure what I am reading.
updating the game 'and' the update, so an update had to be updated?
it goes to the end it keeps scrolling, is that 'and' or 'but', or 'or' or... something else?
too many possibilities to guess..
as to why steam stops downloading, also kinda too many possibilities to guess, but if you provide more info on your system, maybe we can narrow down guesses.
I assume you want it to continuesly download with that last question, though keep in mind some downloads will always look like hops going up hill then instant down and uphill again, because it is separated into multiple parts or spread over locations (and your connection is only to one server).
Hhmm man i did what you said to clear the cache and change the speed limit but the error keeps happening do you know anything else that can help me?
A common mistake people make is that you MUST never run your install drive more than 90% full. Also when you download anything on Steam you must allow up to THREE TIMES the total file size, as games are both encrypted and compressed.
So for example, if you have a 1TB drive and you've used 800GB you're at 80% and have about 100GB left to play with. But if you then try to download an 80GB game you won't have enough because you'd need up to three times that.
And guess what happens when you run low on space? Dopwnloads slow down, or start stopping, or don't even start, or may even download on another drive.
the only time I got an issue was when there was literally too little space to contain the game. So idk.
but for people who don't know how to PC properly, that is a good point as to when to add a new disk for more storage I guess.
I would be like, if you have an 1TB or larger disk and have 100GB left, get a new disk or make room. xd (even if your disk is 8TB or bigger yes, because 10% is a lot of GBs then)
with smaller ones depends. up to 500GB 50GB is a good point. With smaller disks I'd say between 20 and 50 I guess.
(edit) (and its not due to errors, but, because you need room anyway)
What you will notice is that things start to slow down on downloads, and it'll get worse the less space you have.
That's the point.
It's going to have som e variance of course, for the obvious reasons that hardware differes, and the process and games differ.
But while it is going to have variance, you should still follow it as closely as possible. You're just inviting trouble.
i think the next time to update that game is going to be ok
Or it cleared some corruption.
Either way as long as you stick within what I told you, you should be good.
