So yeah if you have action for bad behaviour, whether you think you deserved it or not, is going to affect things.
All you can do is shape up and change things.
Your game ban means you're clearly not trustworthy or a bed actor - your trust factor reflects that. Pretty logical.
I'm more curious if you are able to at least work to get the trust factor to green with a separate game ban on your account
With enough time, yes. I have seen people who had VAC bans from 5+ years ago for playing on modded CoD servers, playing in regular MM. But with a recent ban, your Trust Factor will likely be horrible for a long time.
Achievements files are not connected to game files, and therefore nothing to do with anti cheat mechanisms.
If you're referring to games like Payday2 where in the past Starbreeze took to banning people for cheating achievements with SAM, yes, they banned people but it was NOT through anti cheat and it was rescinded soon after, partly because the legality of such was dodgy.
It does not happen today.
