STEAM GIFTCARD CHECKING VALIDY
Hello
I bought STEAM card but I cannot redeem it, I got error and cannot add to balance. I contacted with seller but he says I need to contact wiht STEAM support. So I contacted with support but they told me they cannot help me, I asked about check to validy code and check is still active etc, I provided code number and serial. Is really STEAM support cannot check code validy?

From where did you buy it?

Official reseller - online shop

There is no such thing as checking validity. Sounds like the retailer scammed you and now they are mugging you off because they know Support wont be able to help. Get your money back if you can, otherwise only purchase from legit retailers who provide a live activation receipt upon the tendering of money and the activation of the card itself from the point of sale.

define 'official reseller' because that generally means 'actually super shady hobo behind a dumpster'

also no 'official reseller' would make you ask steam for something they know steam doesnt have

So official you can't link to it? Or even name it?

I mean I know when someone asks me where I bought something. I don't respond with, "A legitimate store". It sounds like a job for Proper Noun to me.

The word 'reseller' is a dead giveaway too - only retailers are safe and there's not that many that provide this service online if any now. Usually you can only get a card delivered in its physical form with an accompanying receipt or by visiting an actual store. Reseller usually means grey market and those are always bad news.

If the OP has a legit code then it's probably not within his region is my bet.

OP, what is the name of this retailer?

Please be aware of regional codes, as Steam wallet cards are region locked, so example if code for NA, you can't redeem it in Asia, same vice versa. Also there no reason to buy Steam wallet cards online when you can directly load funds on your Steam account. The point of buying Steam wallet cards was to gift to someone as a birthday/congratulations/etc gift.

So if this retailer is not a legitimate retailer, then likely you got scammed by that seller giving you a fake code, and suggest demand a refund from that seller.
