Trying to contact a Admin
Hey all, I'm trying to contact one Sergiy due to a misreport. Someone misreported me instead of someone else and I need to contact them to avoid my account getting in trouble. I tried messaging but all messages are private, could someone help me out. Kinda freaking out tbh, at the thought of my account being shut down over someone else mistake

It’s a scam. Ignore everything that person is telling you. There’s no admin you need to talk to.

Do not log in to anything. Don’t add anyone he tells you to add. It’s all a scam.

Again: IT IS A SCAM

You can stop freaking out and relax. No one misreported you. It's all a ruse to get you to either giveaway your account credentials or give away your inventory, or both. It's a scam. Report everyone involved.

This is nothing new. It is so bad, even Alden (a Valve employee) tried warning people when they were impersonating him...

And now al has added new info to his profile info at the top of his profile...

Valve employees will not attempt to contact you via Discord.

Not only is this the same old scam we see many times every single day, but you are misunderstanding how things work on Steam.

For a start there is no such thing as an admin, so anyone pretending to be one should ring instant alarm bells.

Here's how it works.

If you have any issues with games or tech or whatever, you post on HERE. Everyone who responds is a USER, even the mods. We sort out all these problems.

If it's an account related issue or something personal, then you make a support ticket and the Valve support sstaff will get back to you when it's your turn.

These are the ONLY ways, and this latter one is the ONLY way to talk to anyone at Valve.

So, not only do admins not exist, NOBODY will ever contact you.

Scams all carry a common denominator to manipulate and control your actions. If you think something is wrong it probably is. Your post is good for inexperienced members. You know to block & report this activity to Steam immediately.

No it's not. It's yet another "i almost got scammed" by someone who ignored all the other "i almost got scammeds" that some other easy victim will ignore and get scammed.

Just to add perspective to this, in this last week we have seen on this very forum at least 3 other such PSAs.

And this is every week for years.

So no, you're right it absolutely does not work.

Read that out loud.

It gives it away.
If you compress the story of scams, it looks funny.
