And they would need the 3 digit code on the card
ok good so theres no way for them to know my 3 digit code right?

Only if you gave it to them or used it on the scammers site.

Gambling stuff is pretty expressly against steam's tos.

No 'official' sites exist for such things. They are literally all scams. Every. one of them.

Just saying, loot boxes and "random contracts" in csgo are "luckbased", or as ea calls it "surprise mechanics"

Only thing they can see in after hijacking an account is what you can see when you have access. If you can't see it they can't see it.

Same as the fact a hijacker can't view information that could be used to recover an account. How would anyone be able to prove an account is theirs if the hijacker can see and use all the same information.

Gambling sites and loot boxes are not the same thing. Please stop with the pedantry.

Gambling sites are not supported by steam.

All these unlicensed and non-affiliated gambling sites are scams. Just because a YouTuber promotes something doesn't make it real - most of the time they are either involved in the site or are simply on the payroll. They prey on dumb subscribers and viewers just like TmarTn did with his CSGOLotto scam.

Either they are rigged or they are designed to phish your credentials. These sites are also in place to launder stolen items in return for real money meaning users can have their accounts terminated for holding stolen goods whilst the site walks away with the money and no trace.

The site you are referring to here is embroiled in all sorts of malicious activity and it beggars belief in 2021 that people still defend these or don't realise they are scams.

As long as you've done all steps in response #3 in order and without fail and you stop giving your credentials away to 3rd party sites, you'll be fine.
Yes this is how the world works.

Just because something is not allowed or has problems with you or your Steam account does NOT mean Valve can do anything about it, nor that it's illegal or anything.

The thing is you will get scammed by them as they are indeed dodgy as all ♥♥♥♥. But that doesn't mean they're illegal. Hence why some people who are money hungry will advertise them.

So choose to watch better Youtubers then.

Also, a heads up - Valve can't do ♥♥♥♥ about these even if they were illegal. Because a lot of these places often operate in countries where Valve can't easily get to them or the laws are maybe a bit lax.

This is why it's incumbent upon YOU to educate yourself and be safe.
