Key already in use. How do I contact Steam ?
I cannot find anyplace where I can contact Steam about this key already used.
The company I bought from wrote this :

Please contact Steam support in order to determine when exactly the key has been redeemed (date + time) and provide us with a screenshot presenting the exchange. Key has to be mentioned in the exchange.

Whatever shady store you bought from, scammed you. Get your money back.

steam support will not give you that information. the site is giving you the run around trying to run out the clock so you cannot get your money back. do a chargeback and stop using that scam site. a legit key selling site would assist you.

if you are going to buy game keys, use this site to find legit sellers

They intentionally sell you duplicated key. They also know Steam Support won't give you information that they asked. It is only to drive you away from complaining to them.

Use the last option on this page https://help.steampowered.com/ru/wizard/HelpWithCommunityContactSupport

Describe your situation and ask date/time of key activation.

I wrote twice and got response.

In future, as others have said here, STOP BUYING KEYS FROM DODGY RESELLERS.

They will give you the run around like this. If a good is faulty, it's THEIR responsibility to fix it, not yours to go looking for evidence. They're playing you.

If we're talking about the same company that is usally doing this crap, then they are bound by EU law, and as such if a good is faulty (no matter that it's digital) they MUST give you your money back.

What I would suggest is to write back saying "no I'm not playing your games. Under Eu consumer law I am entitled to a full refund for anything faulty. Please provide this within 7 days via the same method I paid with".

As they're dodgy as hell they're likely to ignore you. But you can at least try.

Your best approach then is if you've paid by credit card is to dispute it with your card provider and make a claim for fraud. They will not only give you the funds back, but it actually will cost the scammers money too in charges.

So in future, this is why dodgy key sellers are to be avoided. You can use places like Humble Bundle, Fantical, Green Man Gaming and a few others. They are legitimate.

The site you bought it from is scamming you. They say that to try to string you along until your window to file a payment dispute has expired. Steam will not give out that information as its private info of someone elses account.

You need to contact the site you bought it from and demand your refund or issue a chargeback or dispute if they refuse.

Then you need to stop buying from shady sites.

Hi and thanks for answers.
I did look at Trustpilot before purchasing, they said they were legit.
This is what I got now back after asking for refund.

Please contact Steam support in order to determine when exactly the key has been redeemed (date + time) and provide us with a screenshot presenting the exchange. Key has to be mentioned in the exchange.
This is a direct link to create a ticket and Steam provides a redeem date.

That's the page for when you buy a wallet code (gift card) from a retail store and are having problems redeeming it. Does that not seem weird to you?

As others have said, your response to this fraud is to go to your bank and tell them you were the victim of fraud and issue a chargeback.

Read what people are telling you.

Your situation is not unique.

Shady 3rd party key sellers always tell the buyer to contact Steam Support in this way when they complain that the key they have bought has already been redeemed.

They know it isn't a solution, they are just passing the buck - making you blame and harrass Steam Support instead of them - but they are the ones who have ripped you off.

Just a heads up. Trust Pilot is not a guarantee or even any use at all in many respects.

It's basically an argument from popularity fallacy publiciser. In other words, if a lot of people say it's so, then it is. And of course, that has no bearing on the truth - the number of people who believe something does not make it "truer".

So, yes, plenty of people do use this shady store, and hopefully you'll learn not to trust places like trustpilot in future.
