How to revert to older version of a game?

Paradox incompetent developers broke Prison Architect. How I revert to older versions of game?

You can't. Steam doesn't keep old versions.

I know some games have multiple versions available for installation, but shouldn't it be steam feature in general, not something developers should care about? I know steam still hosting games that are no longer in sale, and hosting old version of a game looks same to me.

In one of the threads one guy said that he contacted devs and they didn't even knew there is a problem, though forum is filled with dozens of tickets related to latest update. And moreover he was told there won't be any emergency update or revert and we should wait for next planned release.

by design it never deletes anything and the dev can always rollback to any version they've ever uploaded
and there are available methods to acquire previous builds from user-end.

Oh wow, I probably should take a look at it at some point. I remember there were other games that were broken by added launcer or something, that better played at old versions.
