How does steam skins work now after the steam update?
I have tried to install skins but it doesn't work. Am I doing it right? I'm putting them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\skins as a STSKIN file. But they still doesn't show up, am I doing something wrong?

Oh... nope but I can't seem to find any sites with skins for the new interface. Do you know one right of the bat? Otherwise you don't have to search for one

Will do, thanks!
When you download a skin either manually or automatically you can name the folder anything you like. The file that allows steam to determin if the folder is a skin or not is called steam.styles and is located here by default inside the skin folder: Myskin\resource\styles

To install a skin if manually downloaded then you simply extract it and drag n drop the folder into your skins folder.

To enable the skin open steam and go to settings > interface and there is a dropdown where you can select the skin. Select the skin you added and click ok then steam will prompt you to restart steam. After you have restarted it you should have a new skin!

If you wanna install metro for steam you can use the installer: https://github.com/henrikx/metroskininstaller/releases

Keep in mind when using said installer you still need to enable the skin via the steam settings.

Please note: Skins currently cannot change the new UI. They can only change the "classic" parts of the ui that still use the GUI method. The new UI runs on Panorama and if you try and change it, steam will revert any changes you made back to the original by verifying your files with the ones on their servers upon launch.

that STSKIN stuff is from a skin website that requires you to use their tool for skins from their website.
the website in question is majorly outdated anyway, dont use it.

It might be because a certain file is missing or has been incorrectly written. There is a specific file in the root DIR of each skin that tells steam its a skin. I cannot remember what that file is but chances are thats the issue.
