Generating Keys.
This probably isn't the right place for this but anywhere better seems to be private...

Hi.

I was just wondering if developers on steam (not that it matters but specifically those working through direct / steamworks) are able to generate keys to send to reviewers / games media. I was considering putting a game of mine on steam and found no information on this seemingly crucial topic.
Specifically what does a developer need to do to create a key. If it is too much hassle I could always just send them the raw game but would prefer to just send a key instead.

Thanks for any help

I believe Steam creates the keys for them, if asked. You have to be a massively popular game maker to have your own key generation.

the "crucial topic" for you atm is to get your game on steam. you will find every bit of information after you passed this hurdle. on a short note, you request key generation for a whole batch, Valve clicks a button and you have a list of keys.
