Destiny 2 Specifically Disk Write Error
Destiny has been working for weeks now. As of yesterday I got an update that will not finish and it says "Disk write error".

I have tried:

Uninstalling and reinstalling the game
Validating the game files
clearing the download cache
Tried looking in the destiny2 folder for a 0kb corrupted file

any suggestions? Other games install and update just fine.

What about scanning the hard drive for errors using disk check in Windows ?

You mean you did the scan and it found no errors on the drive ?

What about your antivirus program conflicting with the update, maybe ?

This page covers some things not done so far, apparently :

Make sure you also check everything linked in blue, please.

I had the same issue. In my case, the root cause of the problem was the antivirus (Avast) that blocked the copy of Destiny.exe file after any update.

I looked into "content_log.txt" log file and I found this line of error:

File commit failed: failed to move in file (Disk write failure) "G:\Steam\steamapps\common\Destiny 2\destiny2.exe"

I had to temporary disable Avast in order to procede to the update (and after that I changed the antivirus).

There's no need to do that.

Sometimes files can be suspected as viruses and will quarantine them routinely. The correct procedure is to go to your antivirus suite and simply make an exception for that file.

Avast anti virus was the cause for me - In Avast went into the chest, found the destiny 2.exe and added to exceptions and restored and it all works fine
