its a gift card. there is no address or name registered to it. its not a card that has an account or name to it... THATS why im asking...
yeah so i tried visa b4 i made this post but it requires the address and names fields to be filled. i guess ill try contacting steam. coz i know theres such thing as steam cards, maybe they work the same way and theres a specific way to use them.
anyway thanks for the help guys!
but did you purchace the card yourself? or was it a gift? if it was a gift maybe you have to register the name and address of the person who purchaced the card! and also note from experience from the playstaion store if the card details are not entered exactly as they are registered with the bank it will refuse the card payment! i.e make sure that you use address line 1 and 2 and all spaces and capital letters are filled in correctly
You should be able to buy Steam Wallet Cards with it if there's a shop near you that sells them. Not sure about using it with online Stores as they may not accept it like Steam doesn't.
it isnt issued by a bank.
and i've tried the website already, there is no registration involved and no names or accounts associated with either the card or the login process. it just shows the balance of the card (apperantly i used up $2.70 from it 2 years ago and i just dont remember, most likely junk food :D).
ill contact steam. but im surprised im the only one who has run into this issue...
because there is none. you are just projecting stuff into a process that should be intuitive and make it overly complicated. the card account holds funds that were already paid for, that is the normal procedure how creditcard based gift cards work.
yes just enter the info that is required just as u would with any other card. like someone else said, the name u provide is not associated with the card, just that address is required for billing and legal purposes. in this case, since the gift card is not registed under or with a specific name and therefore can be used by anyone, the address and other such info u provide will not be used for billing, but for legal purposes only.... i suspect a little RnD is involved as well.
Worked like a champ! Registered the Zip and all good to go! Thanks
A VISA gift card is a VISA card, go ahead and do what you do with real credit cards.
For myself, when I tried to add $50.00 to my wallet from a $50.00 VISA gift card, I found out that Steam had subtracted $1 from the VISA gift card. Instead of trying to get $45 worth of wallet funds, I just went to BestBuy and paid the $1 difference to get a Steam card. Thank goodness there is a BB nearby. /Sarcasm_on Thank you Steam for this great experience! /Sarcasm_off
I don't care if they need to do that to protect themselves, I'm peeved that I had to go through this experience to get my wallet funds. Plus, who knows if I'll ever be able to spend the now in limbo $1. Damn first world problems...
