You will be issued a full refund of your purchase within a week of approval. You will receive the refund in Steam Wallet funds or through the same payment method you used to make the purchase. If, for any reason, Steam is unable to issue a refund via your initial payment method, your Steam Wallet will be credited the full amount. (Some payment methods available through Steam in your country may not support refunding a purchase back to the original payment method. Click here for a full list.)

You might have to wait for someone that has actually done that before.
Is it possible?
But when it comes to REFUNDS, when that is how you purchased the game, I have no idea. Sorry, as I have not ever tried it before. It might be something that Steam will tell you when and if you do this, as otherwise, you might have to wait on someone to post that has done that before.

For example only, that is a search for "refund" but you can refine that if you want.

And the good Spawn is a moderator, so aside from him doing that himself, he knows what he is talking about.
If you have requested a refund to the original payment method and that was split between your wallet and your credit card, then the amount you paid with each will be refunded to each. So if you paid $10 in Steam Wallet and $20 on your CC, then you will get $10 back on your wallet and $20 back on your CC.
Keep in mind it may take longer for the refund to the CC to be reflected on your statement then it will for the Steam Wallet to be available.
I was typing up the response when the OP found the old one and linked to it.
