i dont understand why i receive trading card but my son doesn't, any specific reason why?

Is he family sharing the game from your account? If so, likely that trading cards won't drop for shared games.

no, he as his own copy, it's also weird that he also stopped using steam for almost 2 years and he was receiving card before but since he ot back on, he's receiving none.

How long are the games running for? Sometimes there's a cooldown that requires a game to be running for 2 hours before normal drops will start.

Does he have any drops remaining for the game(s)? 2 years is plenty of time to forget that you sold/traded the cards away.

Did he recieve the game(s) as part a the Free To Keep promotion? Those no longer give cards.

--some yes, did he trade some, probably, he just doesnt get any new card since he log back in.

What Steam level is he? If he was not on Steam for some time, they changed the requirements for unlimited accounts to spend at least 5 bucks on the store a few years ago.
Even retroactively. So if his account shows as level "0" that is the reason.
Because limited accounts cant get card drops.
