Transferring my games to another pc (laptop to pc)

I just gotta download steam and login and all my games are there right? (A lil clarify I seen video about transferring your steam to another and all)

Steam isn't tied to a specific computer if that is what you are asking.

You download the program, install and login, and you can download the games you wish to play.
Yes. You can even copy over the entire Steamapps folder to the new PC's Steam location. You can also back up saves in case some games don't use the Cloud and you want that to carry over as well... https://www.gamesave-manager.com/ .

your account and games follows you, not the computer. so you install steam on the new computer and login.

for the actual installation of the games on the new pc, you have two options. 1) just download the games from steam on the new computer, 2) transfer the game files from the old pc to the new pc. option 2 isn't for everyone but can be useful depending on your situation. option 1 is by far the easiest.

I think I’m going with option 1 I mean is there a difference between it? (Not sure how I describe it)
Double check you've cloud-saved/backed-up any gamesaves you wanna keep.

the game files are the same.

depending on the game, it may or may not use Steam's cloud back up service for settings or saved games. for the ones that don't, you'd have to copy those files from one pc to the next on your own.

Option 2 is actually easier if you have an external drive that’s big enough to hold everything so that you can transfer it. It doesn’t work for every single game though but it’s the best option if you’re on a data cap.

When it comes to save game data try using this handy utility for transferring that.

Edit: Ah, hadn’t spotted that Hotsauce had already recommended it. Still, an additional plug for it never hurts.

Well here these games I have

Team fortress 2

Counter strike global offense (but rarely)

Left 4 dead 1 & 2

Garry’s mod

Black Mesa

Don’t starve

Source SDK (try to install nh2 but didn’t work that’s why I’m getting another pc)

Killing floor 1 & 2

Poker night

Helltaker

Fallout 4

Cry of fear

Undertale

Spelunky and more will these be on another pc? (Just to clarify some didn’t start cause my laptop ya know like graphics and all)

nice thanks
steam is like a cloud so you must download all of them again on the new pc
if you meant:
you install Steam on the new PC
login on your account on the new PC
and all the games you have installed on your old PC will be installed on the new PC

... then no.

you have to install them on the new PC, which all the games on your account will be available for.

i am under the suspicion that some of the issues you mention do not come from the old PC but you as its user. if you copy files you will also copy problems.
therefore i do not recommend manually transferring files. download them normally via Steam.

And what happen without it will it still be the same I mean if it just told me to download again I’m fine with that

(And a lil clarify that I have a laptop that was given from my sister and I don’t know if I need some sort of hard drive or something)
