Whats the fix to this?
I have recently changed the password and always used 2 Factor auth since it has been a thing.
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
Ace, thanks.
When you say it has been compromised, what do you mean by this? Is someone quite literally in my account or what?
Well ♥♥♥♥... Now that these steps have been followed, will my account be fully safe?
Also what does it mean if there was something in my API?
with the API it means that someone is probably using that to mess with your account
Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
Any idea why they would just block people?
Will my account always be "Weak" now or once I have done all of this am I good to go?
making a trade look like a system error buys the scammer time. items have a cooldown after being traded, and the longer it takes support to get to your ticket, the more likely the scammer will have move the item to other accounts
and blocking would be the start of a set up for a "Steam Admin" (the scammer) to assist you with your problem. let your friends know if they are having similar issues
f.e. view all friends and add/remove/ignore them. or read and send messages, etc.
learn do detect phishing websites or simply never login anywhere when something asks for your Steam credentials.
Sounds good, thank you all for the advice, I will make sure to follow these instructions.
Would A Clean Computer be one I have done all of the Above to and Installed an Antivirus on?
